Why StatsAIbeats Notion

Notion is a note-taking builder, and a trading journal there is something you assemble yourself: fields, formulas, summaries. StatsAI is a finished trader's journal where all of that is already calculated. Here is the comparison, point by point.

Short answer. StatsAI does for you what takes hours of manual work in Notion: it calculates win rate, RR, profit factor and drawdown, goes through the combinations of session, model and setup, checks every trade against your own trading rules, and shows the economic calendar and position size in the same window. A trade is logged with one Telegram message. Your Notion history moves across with one link, fields and screenshots included.

Notion is a builder. StatsAI is a trader's journal

That is the core difference, and everything else follows from it. Notion was never built for trading: it doesn't know what a stop, a session or RR is, and it can't. So any journal in Notion is a template somebody assembled by hand, with exactly as much analysis as that somebody managed to express in formulas.

StatsAI was built by two traders for their own trading. The trade form's fields — London, NY and Frankfurt sessions, bias, entry models, setups, continuation and reversal — follow ICT and Smart Money practice. The statistics across them are calculated in advance instead of waiting for you to write a formula.

Five things Notion will not give you

1. Drawdown along the equity curve can't be calculated there

Not "difficult" — technically impossible with an ordinary formula: it needs a running total in trade order, while Notion computes by row and by column. And drawdown is the decisive metric in prop trading: daily and overall drawdown limits are what most challenges are failed on. StatsAI builds the equity curve and shows the drawdown itself.

2. Field combinations

The most expensive thing in a journal isn't the overall win rate — it's which combination drains the account. For example: London + break of structure gave a 13% win rate over 16 trades and a total of −8.4%, while the month overall closed positive. In Notion you only see that if you build a two-field summary by hand — and guess in advance which two fields to check. StatsAI goes through the combinations of session, model, bias and setup on its own and hands you the list: what earns percent and what takes it away.

3. Checks against your trading system

In Notion your entry rules are a note you reread. Nothing connects it to your records, so answering "how many trades did I take outside my own rules" means checking every row by hand. In StatsAI the rules are written as fields and every trade is flagged automatically when it breaks them. You see straight away how much of the result was eaten by trades outside the system.

4. News and position size in the same window

The economic calendar for the day and week sits inside the journal, next to your trades. The risk calculator is in the trade form itself. In Notion those are two other websites and two extra tabs.

5. Logging a trade with one message

The Telegram agent takes a trade as text or a screenshot and sorts it into fields itself. In Notion you have to open the database, find the table and fill in a dozen fields by hand — which is exactly why Notion journals are usually abandoned in week two or three.

Five services collapse into one

The typical stack of a trader journaling in Notion:

In StatsAI that's one tab plus Telegram. The agent sends a calendar digest on weekday mornings, warns you half an hour before high-impact news, recaps the week on Sunday and the month at its end. A trade can be logged in the chat without opening the site at all.

What it saves you in time

Do the maths: setting up a Notion template takes an evening, often two. Then every trade costs a minute or two of manual entry — about an hour a month at 60 trades. Plus the summaries: putting together a breakdown by setup and by combinations is another evening, and it has to be repeated every month.

In StatsAI there is no setup at all, logging a trade is one message, and the breakdown by setup, combination and session is already calculated and updates itself. What Notion makes you do by hand in the evenings opens here with a button.

Moving from Notion takes one link

Nothing needs retyping:

  1. In Notion you press Share → Publish to web and copy the link. No integration keys, no API setup.
  2. The journal guesses which of your columns maps to which field — by name and by the values inside. You can correct the mapping by hand.
  3. Trades move across with their fields and screenshots. Your trading system can come from Notion too.

The free plan includes 3 imports in the first 30 days. And if you also keep notes and plans in Notion, you don't have to leave at all: the subscription keeps the journal in sync with your database — log it in StatsAI, see it in Notion.

About the price

Notion is free, and that is its one genuine advantage. Except that a free Notion journal is paid for with your time: an evening of setup, an hour a month of manual entry and an evening of summaries — every month, for as long as you keep it.

StatsAI: the first 20 trades are free, plus 20 backtest runs on a separate counter and 15 assistant requests a month — enough to compare on your own trades rather than on promises. After that 11.99 EUR monthly, 27.99 EUR quarterly or 99.99 EUR yearly. Everything you log stays forever: when the free limits run out nothing is deleted or locked — analytics, stats and export keep working, only new records stop. You can export your trades on any plan, including the free one. Refunds within 14 days.

When to move

The more you trade, the bigger the gap. If you trade daily, StatsAI takes the whole manual workload off you from week one. If you don't have many trades yet, start the free journal now: 20 trades is enough for the statistics to start saying something, and your Notion history can be imported with a link whenever you want.

Frequently asked

Why is StatsAI better than a journal in Notion?

In Notion you assemble and calculate the journal yourself: fields, formulas, summaries. In StatsAI the statistics, field combinations and trading-system checks are ready from the start, drawdown along the equity curve is calculated automatically (a Notion formula can't produce it), the economic calendar and risk calculator are built in, and a trade can be logged with one message to the Telegram bot.

Can I import trades from Notion with screenshots?

Yes. In Notion you press Share → Publish to web, paste the link into the journal, and trades move across with their fields and screenshots. Your trading system can come from Notion too, and no integration keys are needed.

What can StatsAI do that Notion can't at all?

Drawdown along the equity curve, automatic analysis of combinations (session + setup + bias), checks of every trade against your rules, an economic calendar next to your trades, position sizing inside the trade form, logging a trade by Telegram message, backtesting with candle replay, and a snapshot link for publishing a result.

Can I keep Notion and run both in parallel?

Yes. The subscription keeps the journal in sync with your Notion database: trades logged in StatsAI appear there.

What happens to my trades when the free limits run out?

Everything you logged stays in place and shows in analytics. Only new records and new assistant requests stop, until you subscribe. Export works on every plan.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The journal runs in the browser on desktop and phone, and the agent lives in Telegram.
